Disney World Part One - The Magic Kingdom

We just got back from a great week in Florida at Disney World. It was so much fun and the weather was great. I got spoiled and today I'm freezing.

We spent two days at the Magic Kingdom. The first day was the day we arrived. We got there in the late afternoon and I forgot how overwhelming it can all be. Katie was a little scared but soon got caught up in the excitement.

We started off slow with Mickey's Philharmagic, a 3-d show then moved on to some of the smaller rides in Fantasy Land. She loved them so we decided to try splash mountain. It was great and we learned quickly that Katie loves fast rides. We made a mistake by taking her to the Haunted Mansion. It was a little too scary for her. After that we made a deal, no spooky rides, just fast ones.

Day two it rained like crazy. We had our ponchos and still went out. It was great! Everyone else stayed home so it felt like we had the place to ourselves.
We rode Peter Pan, Small World, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and walked through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse in a little over an hour. I loved it. We took a break early in the afternoon, dried off and came back that evening. We took a little cruise on the riverboat and rode Thunder Mountian Railroad.

We also had a front row seat for the Electrical Lights parade. It was amazing. The best part was seeing Pete and Elliott from Pete's Dragon. It's one of our favorite movies.

We sing this song all the time

The Magic Kingdom really does feel magical. Especially at night. We stayed one night for the lights and fireworks show. It was amazing.
