my paper garden

I do not consider myself crafty. Not at all. However when I saw these beauties I was determined to figure out how to make them.

To my surprise they were so easy to make and took about 5 minutes. I made them for our mardi gras bunco night and everyone was impressed. I thought I'd share how to make them with the rest of you.

Here's what you need. Tissue paper, twist ties (I used floral wire $1 for 18) and twine or monofilament to hang them.

Take 9 pieces of your favorite color and make accordian or fan folds. I like to use two similar colors in mine.

Fold it in half then take the wire and twist it at the fold.

Choose a shape to cut on the ends (rounded, square, or triangle)

Spread out each half into a fan and begin pulling from the ends to the center.

Keep pulling until you have your flower. You can make it as big as you like!

I hung them from the celing with thumb tacks on monofillament so it looked like they were floating.

See, it's that easy! It will take you longer to read the instructions than it does to make it.

  1. I love that! I have seen these around the internet and wanted to learn how. I'm so glad you posted this. I'm definitely gonna give these a try.

  2. These are so fun! I will definitely have to give these a try for Abby's birthday!
