ch-ch-changes

Today is Katie's last day of preschool. She'll start kindergarden in august and she is so excited and ready to go. I just don't think I am. I am so thankful that she's been at a great preschool where she's learned so much and been loved by her teachers.
First day of preschool, December 2008
Katie started preschool a little earlier than we had planned. I had developed rheumatoid arthritis and just couldn't take care of her like she needed. I called every school in the area and Putnam was the only one with an opening in the middle of the year. I am so glad it worked out that way. It was just the place we both needed. Her first two teachers, Mrs. Sheri and Mrs. Barbara were so sweet and loving. Barbara would pick Katie up and give her hugs when I couldn't. I will never forget the love they showed my baby girl. Katie still stops by Sheri's class every day to give her a hug.

The next fall Katie began her first full year with Mrs. Anne. Katie was still a little shy and Anne helped her get used to the routine and become more comfortable with going to school every day. Later that year when I got sick again Anne and her assistant Kristen were just what we needed. They provided a normal routine for Katie but were there to give the hugs and love I couldn't.

This year we were once again blessed with Mrs. Kristen and Mrs. Andrea. Katie has made some real friends in her class and I will miss them all so much next year. It's hard to say goodbye but I'm so thankful Katie has the foundation to be ready for kindergarden I know she'll be just fine.
