Watch My Garden Grow

This is the first year we've tried to plant a garden. We had no idea what to do so over easter weekend we bought the stuff to make a little raised bed and planted some vegtable and flower seeds.

We had NO idea this...
 would turn into THIS!

Katie calls it the Jungle of Nool (Horton Hears a Who reference)
It's been fun watching our little garden grow. We have more vegtables than we can eat, still it's nice to be able to pick food from the garden and cook it the same day. Fresh really does make a difference.

Making the Video

It's been quiet on the blog the past few days. Truth is, I've just been busy enjoying summer. It's my favorite time of the year for sure.
One of our projects this summer was making a music video. On Father's day my husband and Katie wrote a song together. It's super catchy so we decided to make a video and share it on you tube. It was so much fun coming up with the concept and wardrobe and shooting the whole thing. My husband is crazy talented and edited it. I helped by taking some pictures and playing the song over and over. I love the way it turned out.

The Bunny - The star of our video

Giving the bunny some advice before we started shooting.

And here's the video, hope you enjoy!

Traci {Bridal Photographer - Shelby, NC}

I took these pictures in March but had to wait until the wedding this weekend to show them off. Congratulations Traci and Jonathan, I wish you many years of happiness!

 Jonathan played baseball so we took some fun shots out on the field.

Cousins {Family Photography - Cleveland County}

I spent Saturday morning with 4 great kids. Two of them are the son and daugter of Katie's preschool assistant this year. Andrea was a great teacher and Katie loved her. Her kids are just as sweet as she is. The other two are her neice and nephew. These kids were so genuine and fun. It was easy to take great photos. They remind me of Katie and her cousins, always having fun.

I even got Andrea's sister, Stephanie, to sit in on a few.
I love this one.

Thanks Hayley, Brandon, Caleb & Addy for being so sweet.

another year

Today is my birthday, I'm 32. A few years ago I was complaining to my husband about birthdays and as you get older people don't make as big of a deal. His advice, plan your own party, do what you want. It's all in your attitude. So that's what I've decided to do. Instead of celebrating one day, I'm celebrating all week.

It started out with a movie Sunday

then another movie Monday.
Tuesday was swimming and Chick-fil-a.

Today, my actual birthday, was the most fun so far.

It started with free breakfast at IHOP.

 Did you know you can get breakfast for free on your birthday?

It also includes an ice cream sundae. Yep, I ate pancakes and ice cream for breakfast and it was good!

I also need to give some credit to my friends who put together a fun party for me this afternoon at our pool.

Don't I have the cutests party guests?

We had a great time swimming and talking and eating together.
I also got 3 different kinds of cake, mmmmmm

So here I am. Another year older, maybe a little smarter, and with lots more fun ahead this week.

Baby Emily {Newborn Photographer - Charlotte, NC}

A daughter is a bundle of firsts that excite and delight, giggles that come from deep inside and are always contagious, everything wonderful and precious and your love for her knows no bounds.

I just love little baby hands and feet.

The hat was made by my friend Jessica, I just adore it.
