Halloween highlights

As a kid I never really liked Halloween. The church I went to had a "fall festival" instead and we were only allowed to dress up as a bible character or an animal that would have been on Noah's Ark. Most years I wore the same pillowcase dress and head wrap and changed my name to Mary, Esther, or Ruth. It just wasn't much to get excited about.
Once I had Katie I was so excited to let her be whatever she wanted. This year it was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. My mother-in-law is a talented seamstress and made the costume for her. It was perfect and Katie kept saying, "I look just like her." So sweet.
Yesterday afternoon we decided to take a few pictures around town all dressed up. It was so much fun.

Down the yellow brick road

Hey there Mr. Scarecrow

We had Toto too.

I'm glad we're able to make these memories together. What's your favorite Halloween memory?

  1. I love the yellow brick road!

My sister's birthday is a few days before Halloween, so her birthday parties were always dress-up... including the family party. You should see some of the photos we have of the family through the years all dressed in different costumes (or passing costumes around the family).
